I met Kevin personally 16 years ago, after collecting a few of his paintings. He was the most warm, sincere man ever and I still have the photos that he drew on the back of for each of my children. His paintings / prints are throughout our house and we will always cherish them. Thank you Kevin for all that you did for Australian art.

Kevin was such a wonderful man, as well as a very talented artist. My husband and I bought Kevin's first watercolour painting last year and spent lots of times joking and chatting with him. God bless, Kevin, and enjoy your "retirement". There's lots of natural light up where you are, so don't retire those paintbrushes just yet!

It has been an honor to have known Kevin and a great privilege to have had an exhibition for him.

I thank Kevin for sharing his talent with me and all that knew him. You will be sadly missed. Keep painting up there, your paintings, to me, were always heavenly.

Love your paintings! They capture our beautiful Australian landscape so accurately. My sister has 4 of your early pieces in her dining room at Jasper's Brush, they never cease to enthrall me as we dine!

What a wonderful contribution Kevin has made to the world, beautiful paintings created from the heart. He was always kind, full of life, laughter, and inspiration. Kevin followed his heart, his paintings beautiful moments in time of the Australian bush, sea scapes and snow covered mountains. His art conveyed emotion, action and stillness. Kevin loved family, life and art, a wonderful combination I think. Kevin made a big impression upon me… “Follow your heart, do what you love”

Kevin was a talented and skilled artist, he captured the Australian bush and sea with his wonderful rays of light and he used light from within him to touch every person he came in contact with.

A great human being. Kevin Best OAM was a man who made a difference in many peoples lives. Speaking for myself, he made a huge difference to my life and I would like to think I made, at least, a small difference to his. Whether as an individual viewer you like his paintings or value him as an artist it really doesn’t matter because thousands of people loved who he was and the art he made.

Kevin was a man of talent and boundless generosity.
Reminiscing over stories with friends and family of Kevin I realised for the very first time in 30 years he was more than just a friend to me, he was a mentor.

I will miss you my friend RIP

David Brayshaw
